It all began in 2013 when I started an urban farming company called Truly Local Farms. I wanted to encourage people to grow their own food, no matter where they reside or how big their living space is. There’s nothing more rewarding than eating fresh, delicious food that you grew with your own two hands!

Farm My City is an online resource to make urban farming less daunting and more accessible to folks living in metropolitan areas — because yes, even city dwellers can farm! Through Farm My City, visitors can explore all elements of urban farming and receive guidance for growing their own food in a concrete jungle.

As a Torontonian, I have witnessed a lot of people struggling to convert an idle space into one that could feasibly grow food. Thanks to my background in construction, I helped clients devise spatial and logistical solutions to facilitate their city farming projects. Seasonally, I build farms in and around people’s homes and during the off-season, I maintain a microgreen and mushroom farm in a warehouse, selling the harvest to local farmer’s markets and restaurants.

Farm My City is the culmination of everything I have learned in my years as a farmer, organized so people will be equipped with everything they need to grow food in their urban houses or condos.
